I was wondering if anybody was going to be around Baltimore for the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race this week? I'll be aboard the Schooner Pioneer (okay she's Iron and Steel but 119 years old so back off). It would be great to put a couple faces with names, and bend my elbow a couple times!

If you see the "NINA" ex "VINTAGE", the 45' Culler scow schooner say hello to Dayton and Ingrid for me.

Thanks,

Roger

It looked like there was a schooner trying to beat past Cedar Point this morning. When was the start of the race?

Thinking more about this morning, I would guess that she was the Pride Of Baltimore II, but that's just speculation.

At lunchtime, just now, the Sultana went past motoring(?) under foresail & forestaysail. It also looked like a couple other schooners were taking shelter in the Patuxent River. There's a nasty cold front coming through this afternoon or evening. Until then there's 15 -20 kts from the south with a good probability of storms.
