So Im out in the shed muckin with the sheoak cuttin it down so I can get it inside the shed to be stacked and more accessible while we work on the yard... tryin to figure what to do about the massacre of the canoe as Ive torn the strips of down to the feature as it wasnt workin out... and the floors of the skiff which I still must get at one of these days... when Joshy the goshy waltzed out and began muckin about with some offcuts tryin to get his wee noggin around how he could make a nice coffee table for his mum
And so I wandered over and had a bit of a yarn with him which went like so...
Dadda "Well mate whatchaupta there?"
Joshy "gonna make mum a table for her coffee"
Dadda "mmm yer do know I made that one for her the other day doncha?"
Joshy with a glare in his eye "yer but its too big an anyways its too far away from her chair"
Dadda "mmm sounds about right mate whaddaya reckon we oughta do aboudit?"
Joshy with that impatient look that only 9 year old sons can have with their dumb daddas "Dont be a noong dadda! Im makin a little table for her to put next to her chair" and tutting his little tongue he got to pushin a block of wood covered sandpaper over the block of wood
Dadda "Well mate yer want me to give yer a and or what?"
Joshy wiped his brow and put his sand paper wrapped block down and smiled innocently "Well dadda yer could cut the bits for the leg things for me cause Im too little to use the saw that would be good... but Im makin em!!!"
Dadda "yeah yeah yer makin em Im the loppy today okay!... yer want me to cut these ones mate? no worries how long yer reckon? how about 10 inches that do the trick?"
Joshy "Just do it dadda Im busy" and he goes back to sanding the top... nothin like bein told by a 9 year old :rolleyes:
Dadda after a few minutes "Oi sport! whaddaboud we make two of these tables? yer know like one for mum and one for yer ol dadda? whaddayareckon eh?"
Slowly lookin up with one of his wicked grins and a twinkle in his eye "YER!!! To right dadda! an maybe we can make one for Yammy too!!" {Yazmynn has come home for a weekend visit :cool: }
So heres where him an I ended up this evening tops done and legs on ready for the cross peices and varnishin tomorrow...
