Ahoy! A friend of mine, a reenactor and family, have strong Rev. War ties to prison ships in Halifax, as well as prison buildings. She is seeking information in this region to fill in family genealogy roots. Since not many folks back then kept family records on 'privateers', she's trying all sources. Any one wanting to research some history there for her would be appreciated. Here's a website that she can be reached thru http://www.talesofthesevenseas.com/ Thanks, all. Gary
Tell her to check in with the following groups, if she hasn't done so already:
The Nova Scotia Genealogy Network Association at http://nsgna.ednet.ns.ca/
The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic (esp. check out the section Research & Enquiries / Other Marine History Resources) at http://museum.gov.ns.ca/mma/
The The On-Line Institute for Advanced Loyalist Studies at http://www.royalprovincial.com/index.htm
If nothing else, there is some pretty neat surfing to be had on those sites. They are also good gateways to other resources.
