... is a steroid I've been put on to control inflamation incident to the radiation treatments. I't really aweful stuff. Vast mood swings from numb (although, not what I'd call depression) to absolute gibbering mania! Also gives one the taste sensation of having sucked on a chrome key all day.

It also plays mad havoc with my diabetes and blood glucose (sugar) levels. Eye "crawlies" around the edge of my eye and feet feel like being shoved in an incinerator! Yuch. Saw the Endocrinologist yesterday and he suggested a higher dose strategy for insulin that, as least as of today, seems to be helping.

To top matters, I just found out last evening that if I don't tapper off of it (i.e: stop abrupptly), my adrenal gland shuts down and it's dirt nap time for da Kat! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rather be chemically crazy than ... errr... DEAD! ;)

So, we bear this and cut some of the edge with a tiny (.5 mg) of Lorazipam, per the doc. It helps. Finally got some sleep after a week of insomnia.

And the sun is out and it's a nice day! smile.gif

Do you find yourself hitting more home runs?

Haven't really felt like getting up to bat, aside from which the bat is AWOL.... ;)

I have the impression that the balls might be harder to hit, given their shrinkage. tongue.gif

Sounds like the balls have taken a hit, but how about the bat? ;)
PS - Those meds don't sound like a great way to spend the weekend. Yuck is right. How long will you be on this stuff? Glad to hear the sun is shining.

Notice your little blue pram in the background is all better now and she's getting a new set of spars.

She'll be ready when you're feeling better.

could you tell us something about that plane in the photo with the concave bottom please?A spar plane. Easy to make from flea market woodies.

8-side the spar with the jack plane and the spar plane does the rest with minimal sanding.

The brace holds a reamer used to soften hole edges.

Legal-schmegal. Fork 'em if they can't take a joke. After my dad passed following his 9-10 years post-diagnosis, I found his stash. Mom said he'd been smoking for the last 7 years or so.

After all a lot of people on this forum figured you must have been smoking dope long before you got sick. :D

I tend to agree with the others. If you haven't found a source, do so. When my uncle was dying of cancer a few years back, he smoked almost daily.

 I wasn't implying that he was. My uncle's meds tended to make him really agitated, the smoking helped calm him down. Besides, I want to see what Meer's posts are like when he's stoned. :D

Oh yeah, speaking of agitation - I'm taking a STEROID. Have had just a bit of trouble with anger management - for nitty little reasons like the fool asking for my soc - hate giving it out in any case, but it was a regular ritual - still set me off!

So, I'm taking .5 mg of lorazipam per the docs to take the anxiety/jitters off. Helps, but it does it in a way that is foggy and somewhat dulling. Not my thing, but one does what one must.

There was a movie many years ago about an asteroid about to strike the earth. The senior scientist and an old native american shaman were watching and the shaman asked the scientist if he could make it go away . the man of science said " no" can you? the old shaman said "no " But I have something almost as good!

You Do what you have to do to get through!!
