I thought I would pass along this web site. It shows live views of English Bay , B.C. Canada , where I sail .
There are also some great links on this web site . I have not tried all the links yet , but I did find one that had pictures from live cams on the bridges of some cruise ships all over the world.

Hi Wild Dingo;
Let's see if I can answer your questions :confused: .....
The big ships out there are anchored waiting to get into the harbour to load or unload. The thing that looks like a bunker ( and alot of people here would agree with you on that one tongue.gif ) is the aquatic centre with indoor swimming pool. Check out the sloped sides on it...people have been known to mountain bike on them... :D . As for the black car....oh that's only me ;) .
Take care....John

Very interesting John, had a flick at some of the other cam-sites, got a fright when I saw the ones of Bluenose in Halifax, the place did not look that built up last time I was there, Still wear the tattoo I got done there with pride, but its faded a bit. (well I was rather tipsy ya see) and folks do silly things under the influence. Har de har. ;)

I'm a refugee from Vancouver - brought my unfinished boat down from there a couple of years ago to So. California, but really miss home, was my home for 30 years and my kids are still there.
Oh, for those evenings when I would come home from work, start the engine and putter out from the fish docks in False Creek to the middle of English Bay, close it down, light the barbie, drift gently, and just hang out till 10pm or so, then putter home under the Burrard Bridge, feeling like I'd been away for a day or so.
When we can actually get away from here, first trip will be out to Hawaii, then north to Haida Gwai and down through the inland passage to the Gulf Islands. Can't wait.

Hi Oceangoddess;
Sounds like a great voyage you have planned there.
Hope when you sail down the Inside Passage , you can nose your boat into English Bay and enjoy a drift around. smile.gif

Thanks for the English Bay camera JJoohhnn. It is great to be able to see if there is a sailing breeze waiting. My boat is in the picture too! She is the only ketch at the Vancouver Maritime Museaum's Heritage Harbour.
