I start my new job tomorrow morning.

After many years of self-reliance and self-unemployment, I've caved in and decided to join the rank and file. Back to sales. (sigh)

The cabinet company will retreat to part-time status again, and the dye company will be able to limp along as it is for awhile. We are currently in negotiations with a big chemical company over one of our formulations. If that comes out ok, my money issues could go away almost instantly.

All is not bleak, however - this means that when I clear the last 3 jobs out of the cabinet shop I'll be able to do our own kitchen and then empty the shop to get back to work on the boat.

The equipment is located at an associate company - one of my sub-contractors. Fortunately, I do not have THAT much of a burden.

I'll be selling automotive lubricants and additives. Sounds like a stretch, but actually I've also been in specialty chemicals for the last 10 years (and sales for the last 30) so it's not a total career switch.

Funny how different it feels to be getting up to go to work than it usually feels to be getting up to go to work.

Up at the same time, out the door at the same time but it's different. tongue.gif

OOO good,Got an oil that stops the LS1 oil consumption and piston slap problems?

I employ 9 people which is too many and not many enough. We had a major staff issue go off on friday with conflict between 2 of them. All weekend I didn't know whether I had staff for monday or not. It's resolved now but I got no sleep.
I can see the attraction of being employed by someone right now.
It'll be a load off your mind in a lot of ways Ken. good luck with it mate.

Best to you, Ken.

My late father-in-law owned a drug store, and he cursed it more than not. He told me many times his life would've been much better had he gone to work for one of the major drug stores... better hours, more money, significantly better retirement...

Later,

Phil
