On the wall of the Mcdonald's on Rt 1 in Rowley, MA, is a photo of a large boat shop with a sign reading: "C P Mather Corp. Builders of Canoes, Rowboats, Yachts, Tenders, Launches."
The photo appears to date from the 1920's or so.
Anyone ever hear of C P Mather?
C P Mather boats rings a bell, (not Cotton Mather though). My books on local legend and history turned up no reference. When you drive by Fernalds on Route 1A, or down back at Lowell's shop, ask Ralph Johnson. I am sure you can find an answer.
Your question reminded me that I am due for another trip to the Agawam* for homemade banana cream pie.

Good breakfast, too, as I recall, but crowded on the weekends!
Oh, man, I haven't had liver and onions in YEARS!
Thanks, Andy. I'll ask about Mather over at Lowell's next time I go by.
