Beam radiation, day 3:
Bloomin' miracle! The huge lump in my head has shrunk! My eye seems to have moved back somewhat into my head - it was "out" 8mm, but feels like it's further in now.
This is eaither due to the radiation or the dexamethasone anti-inflamatory steriod I'm now taking. I think it's some of both.
Funny, after only the 2nd treatment (and the first on my chest), within a few hours I had this subtle feeling that something was going on - my body knew that something had been done to it. However, I only really felt something physical on the 3rd day and then on only 1 of the 3 beams aimed at each site: a sensation of heat on my skin. I'm now getting a very localized suntan on the sites, but it's likely to be more like a bad sunburn later on. I've got all kinds of stuff to put on it already, plus eye ointment and artificial tears.
I'm feeling just a bit better in general. Part is getting over the initial shock of the move and getting used to this zoo I'm now in. Some of it is getting something done with the cancer, and some of it might just be a bit of getting better. Time will tell.
I'll never be able to say enough, or do enough, to say "thanks" to all of you who have helped me and kept me in your thoughts. Hard to believe that so many people are thinking of me! Thank you all so much!
