Hi gents
My name is Carlos, I live in southern Santa Catarina state , Brazil.
Having changed from merchant fleet (as chief electrician) into small turist vessels (master up to 100 ton) I own a 60 ton, 1947 gaff schooner.
It's been nice during summer time (southern emysfere; jan, fev & march), hard to carry on to the next season.
So please, I would like to have a help from the list on how to get a job on board a yatch.
Please keep on mind that I am not a member of the first world community; I am just a south american guy with argentine & brazilian qualifications (even STCW95 updated)

In general, you need to throw yourself in the path of rich people.

The big problem is that your local season and the international season are about the same time - northern hemisphere winter. Trying to break into the yacht crew market in New England, which would nicely complement your season, is hard.

Here on Cape Cod we have quite a good group of Brazillians, both settling in and working seasonally, but I'm not aware of any in yacht related trades. You might try writing:
