Gaaaaa... what a week!

The nadir was probably Wed. night: 2.5 hours of sleep. Only little more than half what I can usually manage, with the ocassional 5 hour "marathon"! :(

To top that, transportation has been erratic: they didn't show on Wed, so I had to drive myself. Thursday they didn't show up and I couldn't drive myself, so I MISSED MY TREATMENT! Actually, a cab did finally show up at 4:50PM for a 2:45-3:15 pickup window. Seems that there was a shortage on Thursday due to all the devout muslims celebrating the end of Ramadin or some such.

I'm getting better and better - and worse and worse... I feel like I'd have more energy except for getting "squashed" by the steroid, it's effects and the necessary other drugs to offset it's sideeffects.

This too shall pass: last treatment is on 11/15. After that, wait 2 months for swelling to subside and more cancer to die off. The radiation interferes with cell division and so, instead of reproducing, at cell division time it dies off. The dramatic reductions thus far have been due to the faster growing cells reaching their time sooner, but there are (presumably) slower growing portions that will die later. Soooo, about Jan 15th I should have a CT scan "from pate to perrinium" to not only see what's happened, but to also do a survey and make sure that there are no other lurkers (like peeking around my liver, kidney, bladder or other vital part. (There WILL NOT be any bad guys lurking in my head - I FORBID it! :scared:

I'd say more, but it's almost 2am and I'm going to try to sneak into bed early while the steroid's not looking... ;)

Night all! Thanks for all the good wishes and kindness you've shown! Blessings upon you all!

OK Meerkat, Here's the text of my private post: I am a self taught Buddhist, began to doubt Christian dogma when I was 7 (65 yrs ago). Got some early glimmerings of a "way" reading Paul Reps, Christmas Humpreys and Alan Watts. I try to follow the five precepts and the eightfold path, practice T'ai chi, chi kung, yoga, chant and meditate.

Anyhow, you've been hoeing a tough row. I found that meditation, even reading, was difficult or impossible during my own to bouts with hospitalization and major surgery. Rather, something as simple as mindful walking and mindless chanting proved doable and certainly helped. As you become stronger, you may be able to begin a theraputic yoga program (see "Dr. Yoga," by Heriza and don't be put off by the idea of yoga, there's all levels), get involved with Chi Kung (Ki gong), Kirtan (chanting, see CD's by Krishna Das), visualization and/or Shamanic healing (see great book, "Healing With the Mind's Eye" by Samuels). Deepak Chopra's books offer helpful, stepwise healings (see "Grow Younger, Life Longer"). Gentle Yoga, outdoor meditation (weather permitting) being among the trees (our small back yard is a tiny tropical hardwood forest) is healing and restorative. The allopathic "medicine" you are receiving has worked wonders. Add some holistic healing and be well.

Try this Kwan Yin Mantra:Namo Kwan Shi Yin Pu Sa,

go to [URL=http://www.sinc.sunysb.edu/Clubs/buddhism/music/music.html=URL] to hear this and other mantras. Also see "Healing Mantras" by Ashley-Farrand, especially the Gayatri mantra, the essence of all healing mantras, which is as follows (sanscrit, phoneticly):

Om Bhuh, Om Buvaha, Om Swaha
Om Maha, Om Janaha, Om Tapaha
Bargo, Devasya, Dhimihi
Dhiyo, Yonaha, Pachodayat

Namaste good buddy, healing chants coming your way

I may have to cover the mirrors - I discovered last night that a patch about 1/5th of my hair has fallen out where the beam passes....

Think Yul Brynner or Telly Savalas, heck you could be mistaken for Joe (CSOH).

Hang in there.

Didn't they tell you?
With those kind of treatments your hair falls out and your pee glows in the dark.
Sounds like a pretty good trade to me. :D
Hang in there and keep posting when you can.

Hmmm, luminous pee. There's another post about pee around, might be a way of lighting up the bilges?
