I'm thinking of entering the Shipyard School Raid (http://www.shipyardraid.ca/index.html) if I can secure either a berth or a local boat to rent.

Is there anyone local to it with a pulling/sailing boat I could rent, or who's thinking of entering and needs crew? Or anyone else interested in going but boatless? Maybe we could sort something out between us.

I would be coming from UK (from where return charter flights to Vancouver can be had for around 350 GBP, for any others Brits interested). Experience-wise, I have previously done the Great Glen Raid, Raid Finland and Morbihan Week, Brittany in my own canoe yawl, and currently row & sail in whalers.

Chris: Thanks, I'm in touch with Tad and some crewing / chartering possibilities have emerged. I was casting the net wider in case the numbers could be got up to share a charter. I'm hopeful (work schedules permitting) of being there.

Dick,I hope you can make the Raid.I'm still working on getting Munin involved. We have a skipper who is very interested but we need more crew before we can say yes.Pass the word around to your friends.Imagine a cruise down the Gulf Island channels in a 40' vikingship.
