Took Carina into English Bay on Sat with my son. We sailed out of Jerico (no launch fee). 14 knot wind, had a total blast, went all the way over to Lighthouse park. Got sun burned. Saw a gorgeous 20'stripper tri-miran sailing machine with hi-teck sails, what a rocket,(any one know this design?) lots of sail boards. Also saw one of those stripper dingys featured on the cover of WB a while back, the skipper was already hiked 20' off the beach.

I took my son out on English Bay last saturday as well.We saw some sails off to the west that must of been that trimarin you described,I've never seen a sail move so fast along the horizon.

It was Munins first sail of the season and she'll be out pretty much every weekend into the fall.

PS. Jericho to Lighthouse is a pretty good sail.Still thinking about entering Carina in the Shipyard raid?

Yorgie:
I was lookin for Munin but never saw her, one of my sailing goals is to sail with her, the photos would be awsome.
re raid:
Not a hope; thats way too much money, and what about the insurence, whats that for?

I used to sail with the UBC Enterprise fleet from Jericho. Some of the greatest sailing anywhere. We used to do a circuit around the freighters moored in the bay.

When we started our sail about 12 noon there were only three frighters ancored in the harbour, by 4pm there were six, we stayed well away from those in motion but the parked ones are pretty awsome to sail near. Our infamus "fast-cat" blew thru as did a cruise ship; Lots of junk (logs) in the water so you had to keep your eyes open.
I think I may go back this weekend and I'll keep a look out for Munin; bring your camera Yorgie smile.gif

Gert, you must have just missed us.We probably pulled out of Heritage Harbour at about 12:30.I may not be sailing for the next few weeks, but Munin will be.We usually don't go west of Jericho.

I'm still hoping that we sail Munin in the Shipyard raid.Crew positions are available and we hope to offer 3-4 day shifts. This would allow people who can't spare the time or money a chance to participate.
