It was brought home to me this evening what a strange and wonderful place these cyber-communities are. I've known Norm for over 5 years here on the Forum, we never met, and I don't know if I ever told him how special he was to me.

I don't like the feeling of incompleteness that I've got tonight. So it's time to play some blues, drink a little whiskey, and definately time to tell all of the good citizens of the WBF......

Hey, thanks for being my friends. Y'all mean a lot to me.

Raise your glasses, folks. Here's to Norm.

Peter mate Im sittin here tears flowing quite literally flowing as I try to write this after reading of Granpaw Norms entering the next stage of his journey and having just written my own inadequate words on the thread.

And I feel the same so many friends never met never seen but friends through the words on a computer screen friends none the less.

Im glad I wandered in here some 4 years ago... glad Ive met such a brilliant mob of fellas and sheilas from all around the world... and thank Woodenboat for having set up and made available the opportunity to be a part of this thing.

Im also very glad to know you mate :cool:

And all the rest of yous fellas and sheilas too... but Peter started it!! tongue.gif }

Cheers Norm sail on mate sail on :(

I've been thinking the same way Peter.

First winter race today. totally windless right now.. fog , but 40 knots due this afternoon.
a bit like the forum. It can be extreme.

There will be a quiet rum to Norm before the day's out.

I'll be hoisting a glass to Norm later today when I'm working on the schooner.
