Just wanted to say thanks to all with the help on fixin my Diablo's transom. I now have 2 alternatives to follow and by gosh,
I believe my sanity is still intact!

My answer is: I am going to install a jack
plate to the transom. i.e. 2 sheets of aluminum plate, threw bolted with a hardwood
shim on top to raise the motor to the correct
height. If you really must know.bwahahahahaha!
