Any one know what happened to S. Weir's "Great Encouragement to Boatwrights?" It's been around since the last Ice Age and I noticed my link was dead while redoing a site and could not find its new location.

Thanks.

That's just the trouble, PC. It was on his S&A website, but the site has been closed -- along with his email address.

I hope it simply means he's in the process of changing ISPs, and that he'll be back on air shortly.

The lead page is still available in the google cache and in the wayback machine; someone should snag copies of them and keep them safe lest some disaster have befallen him.

(www.google.com, use "great encouragement to boatwrights" as the search string, with the quotes; once you've found a link address -- http://www.iws.net/wier/bbfile1.html --, go to www.archive.org (http://www.archive.org) and use the link address as the search item; the archive will then give you a list of versions of the page, click on one and you'll get the text, sometimes with graphics. At least some of the other pages are .../bbfile22.html etc. I'd do this but don't have the space or hosting capacity at the moment.)

Hey, htom, well done. That's fantastic.

Pc, try this link. (http://web.archive.org/web/20020127150936/http://www.iws.net/wier/bbfile1.html) -- I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. (Not all the links work though, and I don't have the knowledge or resources to be able to rescue them I'm afraid.)

I did manage to rescue one of the two photos of Skylark that was there too, but then I found the original photos on John Kohnen's Depoe Bay site. They've been posted on the "Skylark 14" thread.
