I posted this in Misc Boat butI thought I'd put a copy up here.

It's that time of year when rowers look out the window at all that ice and think...must be time to travel to The Snow Row in Hull Massachusetts. Saturday March 6th, 12 noon start.
It's time to watch up to 20 six oared gigs in a LeMans Start. The crews run down the beach, clamber aboard, back off the beach, turn around and then race for 3.75 miles.
The other boats read like a what's what of traditional boats. Dories, whitehalls, guideboats, peapods, Seabrights, Irish Currachs... the list goes on
See more here Hull Lifesaving Mus. Snow Row
In past years crews have come from as far away as England, and have developed rivalries with New England Rowing Clubs. Hard racing followed by Elbow Bending at the local pub.
So who wants to meet up? Gunnar has been known to come out of the woodwork, Ben Fuller has been a regular. Any other Forum members?
I'll be there as a spectator this year(sprained wrist) but it will be a fun time.

I'm tempted to get the pulling boat out of neighbor's garage, reassemble the Piantedosi rig, etc.
If i didn't freshen the varnish, would anyone notice?
Is it too late to train? I've certainly had a good taper.

The wx forecast isn't presenting much excuse.
