I wonder what the dollar value would be if one of you clever forumites ( IE: Computer savy) could bundle up all this formu information and sell it to the boatbuilding public? Any thoughts?

Nah, don't do that. It would ruin the anbience of the place if somebody tried to make money off of it.

Nice compass rose, I've been trying to figure out how to get one layed out on the entrance to my house. Hardwood floor, century home. I figure a razor blade for delineation and stain to colour it in. Clear protective cover on top. What say you?

I did one on my living room floor (hemlock) that way. I made it quite subtle so that quite often people don't notice it right away. There is also a greek pattern border around the edge of the room. I used two stains - Colonial maple and walnut - to get four shade variations in the patterns (no stain, stain 1, stain 2, combined stains)
(poor picture quality; sorry)

The problem with packaging this conversation is that a fraction of the information and advice here is wrong. It's hard to write a strong enough disclaimer.
