They made three sizes. I bought out my local hardware store's inventory at scrap prices a while ago. Tell me which sizes and business ends you want. Also see a thread a year or so past on these critters -- had some disparaging remarks that I don't share

'm a bit late here but the title made me laugh. Talking about disparaging remarks, a hammer was known as a "yankee driver" here, WW2 origins I think.

Toss the original bits into a box for your kids to inherit and puzzle over. CRS prevents me from immediately recalling whether it's Garrett Wade or Lee Valey/Veritas that sells bit holders that are available to fit all sizes of the old Yankees. They can hold all of the replaceable bits available everywhere so you can use them to drive slotted, Phillips, square drive, torx, whatever. I have 'em in all four of my Yankees and I love 'em.

Poke around at tag/garage sales. I picked up four Yankee Drivers two weeks ago for 50 cents each. The small one had a complete set of bits in the handle. I bought them for my son and son-in-law.

At the bottom of small parts bins at these sales is usually where you will find the bits.

Would you believe Sears!? They come in blister packs of ~8 bits (yup, 8 different sizes per pack)not individually. But they are almost always in stock in my neck of the woods (Massachusetts).
