Our very own Tom McKinney and I have been emailing a lot back and forth as we build the same design boat. He had an interesting idea.
What do you all think about using a Rhino Lining as the interior of a boat? Sides and sole? The sole could have non-skid in it.
Seriously interested in your thinking on this. I know it is tough as nails.
My buddy has a formula of his own that approximates this stuff. If you are interested let me know and I'll ask him the mix and send it to you.

A friend of mine recently encountered a Rhino dealer who said he could apply it any where you wanted it. They were talking about applying it to the hull on a small day sailer, to help minimize the effects of our rocky shores. ;)
Who knows?? It is expensive though.

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed here or in B&R. If the search function is up to par, try searching for truck bed liner or something along those lines.

A friend of mine put some of that bedliner goo on the bottom of his D4 dinghy. It was rough and ugly as all get out, but it was some kind of tough. Might be a good idea for protecting a beater dink or utility outboard that might see rough duty on a rocky beach.

two years ago,
my dad painted on stuff called Herculiner (?sp) on the bottom of his wooden driftboat (very similiar to rino liner). all i can say is that stuff is TUFF!! the true test that i saw was one day when we were at a bad takeout spot on the river and my dad just hooked a rope to the boat and then hooked the rope to the truck and proceded to drag the boat up about a 15' high slopeing bank. the boat went over rocks, gravel, mud. we finally get it on the trailer and i take a peek underneath to look for scratches. well, there were hardly any! i mean they just looked like fingernail scrathes. after that i was truely amazed. good stuff to use, weather on the inside or outside of a boat. the only thing to think about is how much weight it will add to your boat.

We used LineX (similar product) sprayed on the plywood flooring of the replica Gar Wood speedster. Looks great, wears great, and doesn't slip around. Would do it again.
