I am interested in any information regarding marinising a 4 cyl automotive VW diesel engine for use in a wooden boat. Looking for source of parts ie water jacket's etc. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

if anything can be done to or with a VW diesel engine, these guys know about it.
once you figure it out, document it well. I'm going to want to pick your brain in a few years!

Both the 4 and 5 cyl models (VW/Audi) were marinized as "pathfinder" brand in the early '80's- parts should still be available if you search the net. Try www.boatdiesel.com (http://www.boatdiesel.com) as a starting point.
