I'm trying to help a friend locate a replacement for the stbd. windshield on a 1967 Chris Craft 17' Custom Ski Boat. Any leads or sources would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Roger

Keep an eye on eBay, there was an original wood windshield assembly on there a while ago. Someone's got 'em.

Holzbt- The "Brass Bell" which is the publication for the Antique Chris-Craft Club has 8 pages of people and merchants selling stuff for "old" wooden CCs, Centurys, Gar Woods etc. Their website is www.chris-craft.org. (http://www.chris-craft.org.) Another website to check is the Antique and Classic Boat Society (ACBS) which has chapters all over the country. Each chapter seems to have a website with lots of equipment dealing with antique, classic post-war and "modern" wooden power boats.. I don't have that address at hand but it should be easy enough to find. Once you have one of the chapters, they all seem to link to each other. Good luck.

Why don't you build a replica, Bonnaker?

I would build it myself except I don't know how to make curved safety glass. :D
(The metal frame is still fine but the glass didn't survive the bombing run from the hungry seagull with the hard clam.)

What about an automotive glass shop? If the frame is good they should be able to make some glass to fit eh?
Another option would be to contact Jim Staib at Fine Wood Boats and see if he's got one. His contact info is on his website here---> http://www.finewoodboats.com/

P.S. I think the Custom Ski Model didn't have a split or 2 piece windshield until 1965 like the one in this pic of a 1965 17ft. Super Sport.

The 64's were one piece glass.
It would be interesting to know if the windshields from other models and years would fit.
