I'm looking for a source for 3/16" copper bar stock. Jamestown and Hamilton Marine does not carry copper bar stock. I can't use copper rivets or nails, they are too short. Thanks.

If you can't find anything closer to you try Alaskan Copper and Brass Co. in Seattle, 1-800-552-7661. Good Luck.

If you can afford to go a bit larger in diameter you might try 4 gauge copper ground wire from an electrical supplier or Home Depot. The wire is .204" diamater or about 13/64ths.

Most types and shapes of metals are available by mail from Metals Depot. Their web site is http://www.metalsdepot.com

I've checked a few items and found the prices quite reasonable.

Paul, I used www.smallparts.com. (http://www.smallparts.com.) Here's the page--http://www.engineeringfindings.com/cat21/p106.pdf

McMaster-Carr also has it but not in short lengths. I used the 1/4" that I ordered to rivet the new tiller to it's fitting. Like Frank says, #4 gauge copper wire might do ya. It's softer than what you'll get from Small Parts. These two sources are returns on the 'Copper Rod source' post I made here a few weeks ago.

Thanks for all the leads.....I just called and ordered from the Metal Depot. Very nice people to deal with over the phone. 3/16" rod should be here in three days. I'm using this to install the gaff jaws on the gaff.
