A friend of mine ordered plans from Wooden Boat several years ago and has now completed a 42' double mast early 1900s vintage sailboat. Great looking boat but he is faced with a problem of getting it to deep water. They have built it at the mouth of a river but due to silt there is not sufficient water to launch it. At a -.3 tide there are places with only 3-4 inches of water. We don't have 2004 tables and the tables were not available when he recently visited the states.
Wondering if someone could provide us with tide level for the port of Florianopolis, SC Brasil for the months of March, April, and May. Maybe 3-4 days from each month with high and low for the day and the time of day it reaches the high and low.
Thank You

Gerald...If you have the tide tables for '02, and can compare them to the current tides, you can pretty accurately predict what they will be for '04.
Factors like storms and such will not be predicted by any tidal software.

OK ..... The Navy lists tables back several years so I will print out the three months that he wants from the 2002 tables and he can adjust to a specific day when the launch date draws nearer. Believe it or not we are pretty much storm free in this area. However, I am sure a storm in another area might have something to do with our water level?
Maybe Norm needs to be thinking about some big ass barrels to lift that 40,000# boat off the bottom?
Thanks Gerald

As long as you know your time difference from a standard or secondary port, you can get the tides for any day of any month of any year, past, present, or future, from WXTide32, a marvellous little free downloadable program available here. (http://www.wxtide32.com/)
(Anyone who might be intersted in knowing about UK tides and is deterred from using the program because of the caveat on that site is encouraged to email me.)
