I refastened my cedar on oak trawler eleven years ago;recently on rececking the garboard fastening I noted fair to poor deteriation of the screws;above the garboard the screws were in much better shape; Most of the deteriation occurs in the interval between the rib and plank ; I thought screws were good for at least 20 years;what gives?
