Anyone ever seen or heard of silicon bronze pan-head screws? As we all know, if you're not careful, flat-heads tend to split thin planks at hood-ends or at the edges of just about anything. It would be nice to use pan-heads in applications where the wood is thick enough to allow for a shallow counterbore so the heads could be hid with putty. But as far as I know, pan-heads are not made in bronze...??

The perfect thing for that mahogany speedboat.
Maybe if you asked real nice, Mr. Lee would do a run in silicone bronze?

I am rebuilding a small trawler that was built in Finland (1984). This boat has a number of different size bronze pan head screws used in it's construction. Maybe do some searches of marine supply places in Europe?
