Hi Bob,

Sorry can't help you out on the sail. But, mighty interested in seeing pics and info on HEIDI. She will be my next building project, after i finish up the strip build Cosine Wherry I'm working on. good luck on sail info.

If you would like e-mail me at compassboat @yahoo. com

bob thanks, i'm in the final stages on the inside and just have to turn her over for painting and then work on the sail rig. i hope to have her in the water in a week for a row at least. i'll post a picture then. i've taken some liberties on the details but not the basic hull shape. i've installed the cb trunk but not built the cb or rudder yet. gets exciting at this stage and it's easy to get impatient and rush things.

You can get The Universal Bolger Sail - 59 sq ft, 16' mast (standard lumber), sprit boom, used on a bunch of Phil's smaller boats - for $175 from Dynamite Payson. I don't know if that's cheap enough, but they're nice sails made by Bohndell, he has them in stock, the rig is docile and easy to sail, the sprit boom alows you to tweak sail shape to your heart's content if you like that kind of thing, and Payson's a great guy if you can understand his Maine accent. Here's the link: Sails from Dynamite Payson. (http://www.instantboats.com/pricetxt.html#sails)

i was given a free windsurfer yesterday the sail is 63sq.ft. i'm trying to decide if i can rig it like the sail on the cartopper. or sell the rig and buy a standard spirit sail for it.

I have a Sailrite kit sail for my HEIDI. It is made to Rich's dimensions & works well. I wish I had included reef points though. Rick
