need info on boat

My dad owned a wooden 18' lapstrake hull outboard runabout in the 1960's. I do not know the age of the boat. The hull was painted white with all other surfaces finished with varnish. My dad recalls the manufacturer as I.H.I. craft from Japan. Is this accurate? I am not familiar with that name. As I recall, she was a fine boat with a flaired bow, seaworthy for her size, and sported a four stroke 55 horse Homelite kicker. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks much. john.t
