I hope to start building Rich Kolin's "Heidi" skiff soon and can not find a vendor for specified 1 1/2" copper cut tacks. These will be used to clench the 1/2" lapstrake planking. I have tried all the vendor links listed on woodenboat.com and boatbuilding.com. Seems the largest everyone has is 1"?? Any help is appreciated.

I don't know how big this boat is, but you could always scrap the tacks and use nails. You'll have to predrill for them, but they'll be much stronger anyway -- and especially so if you rivet them over roves.

Try Strawberry Banke in New Hampshire. They sell cut copper boat nails that are suitable for clench nailing.

I got mine from Strawberry Banke. They really are about the only source. My "Heidi" turned out really nice. Good luck. Rick
