I have access to over a 100 gallons of this product, free. Can I use it inplace of or with epoxy.
this is a vinyl ester epoxy resin that uses MEKP at 2 oz per gallon as cat.

I suppose that this stuff and the free pallet lumber is about right for a Super Brick.

As in the replies to your previous post this is a vinyl ester resin - it is midway in properties and price between polyester and epoxy. Don't be misled by the "vinylester-epoxy" designation, that has to do with the bis-phenol A backbone of the prepolymer resin which is similar to epoxies. The chemistry of this product is closer to that of polyester resin in terms of catalyst and working properties than to epoxy and is not chemically compatible with epoxy. It has better adhesive properties than polyester, worse than epoxy. It will be absorb more energy prior to failure than polyester, less than epoxy. It is not really intended for use as an adhesive. It is primarily designed as a matrix for use in laminating layers of fiberglass fabric reinforcing materials.

If you are building a small tack and tape style boat ala Dynamite Payson and Phil Bolger it is probably just fine, but of course you will only need a few liters or so for that - why not just sell this stuff to a glass builder really cheap and buy some epoxy with the proceeds.
