I am interested in finding a fair priced fixer-upper from the many damaged sailboats along the gulf coast. Doe's any one know where I might look on the net to get an idea where to start my search? Am not searching for Parts, would like to find something that can be "Brought back to Life" All or any input would be great, as I have spent Boo Koo hours on this search with not much luck.

Just keep in mind that the insurance companies considered these boats total losses, i.e. the cost to repair damage is more than the boat is worth and are being sold for salvage. Calling them "fixer uppers" may be a bit optimistic. Be sure to check out any boat that interests you very closely.

Why not contact some insurance companies -- they must now "own" many damaged boats. At the very least they should be able to give you contact info for their agents.

In most cases the insurance companies are the sellers. The claim has been paid to the owner and the company takes the boat and sells it for salvage to recoupe some of the loss.
