Hi Everyone,
I'm looking at installing the exhaust components in my runabout so I can work on the rear seating.
I need 4" flexible wet exhaust hose and inline mufflers. I called a local place and they wanted stupid money - $300 per hose, $200 per muffler and I have dual exhaust!
Any recommendations on vendors of the materials and then retail vendors? So far, it looks like shipstore.com has pretty good pricing. It seems Trident is the leading hose mfgr - and maybe Vetus for the mufflers?
The length is 10' from engine to transom. Small bends - no sharp angles.
Any recommendations appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
When I used to install any V8 up and including twin 454 cu in blocks we use 4" Dia single exhaust, and yours being 10 ft from the stern fits that description. We fabricated a Y connector of 4" dia Copper pipe and connected it all with 4" steam rated hose, the mufflers we used were all cast iron, but rubber ones are available. All that fit together then run one 4" copper pipe to the transom.. but ya got to have a straight shot, no bending of the 4" for me.

Instead of buying my replacement hose from a marine dealer, I went to a big hydraulic hose service place.. He accessed the hose for about 20% less money... ;)
