Thanks, Dave

Well aside from the first one being an Irish Forest Service page, those are great links ;)
But they dont seem to carry the info I am after. I was not succesful on the US Dept. Of Ag either. Doesn't someone carry cencus type data on lumber production for the US? I specifically want to know about Clifornia lumber production over the past few decades and California lumber importation. How much of what is being harvested in CA and what is being imported.
I am attempting to refute the assertion from a freind that CA lumber is dead and most of our lumber comes from overseas now. Something I "know" is not true but I need hard data to prove.

"• California consumes nearly 15 percent of all of the wood and paper used in the United States, the most of any state.
• California's lumber production is at its lowest level in 20 years, while its timber harvests have fallen 60 percent since 1988. Nationally, logging on federal lands has fallen to its lowest level in half a century.
• The state imports about 75 percent of its wood and paper products from Oregon, the U.S. Southeast, Canada and Europe."

This PDF file, from July 2004, probably has what you need. (http://www.fs.fed.us/pnw/pubs/pnw_gtr615.pdf)
