(see the LVJ bronze winches ad on the inside of the back cover of #170)

The USA website listed in the ad is evidently not up and running yet. Can anyone tell me anything about these winches? Quality? Cost?

I'm in the market for a pair of #10 or #12 selftailing winches, and these look like they'd be more attractive than the bronze lewmars with the plastic self-tailer.

I've seen them and they're beautiful. I've talked with Bill Taylor and Dave Snedicker (the USA distributors) about these winches. Taylor and Snedicker do high-end classic sailboat restorations and their clients demand the best of the best. They tell me that the quality is outstanding and the price is surprisingly reasonable. In fact, I've got my eye on a couple for Patience.
