Starband vs. Direcway

Anybody have any experience with the above Sat Internet services? Seems most brands are just a Starband reseller. Directway appears to be different equipment. Any feedback appreciated as the new 'office' is too deep in the woods for DSL or Roadrunner.

2 years experience with Direcway, am presently dumping it in favor of 56k modem:
For large file downloads Direcway is fine & speedy - no complaints.
But for anything that requires 'handshaking' (like web beowsing) it's miserably slow.
I was surprized last week: when my satellite link was down I fired up the old modem & dialup. Found that modem is MUCH speedier for generic web browsing. Sad after spending $$$ on the satellite hardware.

My father lives off the grid in Gooseprairie, WA. No electricity, phone, no nuthin'. Got Starband, it's pretty good. Though the last time I was there I checked his speed and it wasn't that great. Previously, it was download very rougly DSL speeds, (can't remember exactly). Uplink was significantly slower. Cost about $70 a month, as I recall. It might be that the dish has to be realigned. (shrug, don't know.)
