At last a fully functional machine has arrived on my doorstep. I explained my story to the customer sales rep at their 800 line (Reconditioned planer thread (http://www.woodenboat-ubb.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=003095)), and he promised a brand-new, still in the box unit would be shipped immediately. Sure enough, UPS delivered it today - and not a reconditioned unit, but a brand new one, properly packaged, and undamaged.

I have only run a few test pieces through it, but it runs smoothly, reasonable quietly for what it is, and does not show any signs of clogging. The fan-assisted chip ejector shoots the waste material about 20 feet! A dust collection system is definately in order! Every piece has come out as smooth as glass using the higher cut rate.

Anyway, in the end, I'm happy with what I got as well as what I paid. In the mean time, Amazon has botched a different order of mine (parts for my Porter-Cable 7403 Power Paint Remover), and I'm still dealing with them about that.

Here's to many happy hours of making wood shavings!

Congralutions smile.gif Does it leave any "snipe " mark? If my Sears/ belsaw ever takes a dump I think the Dewalt , or maybe the Hitachi, will be the replacement. I hope the Sears last another 20 years though smile.gif HTBH ;) PEG
