If you don't find it at an affordable price or find it at all - the insurance industry has an attitude about wooden boats - try liability insurance on your license. At least you'll protect an injured guest from undue loss if there's an accident and yourself against litigous guests.

Call Boat/US. They sell insurance reasonably, and you can do it on the telephone. You may need an insurance survey.

Look thru your issues of WB magazine for insurance carriers who advertise there. They know WB readers probably have a wooden boat so the issue of whether they like wood has been resolved.

If the company you call can't do it, ask them to refer you to a company who can.

Also try Lloyds. Seems they insure everything!

Thanks to all who replied. I have developed a list of 13 insurance brokers which I'd be glad to email anyone who requests it. I was able to place my business with The Boat Insurance Store, Lawrence Fox Agency.
