In my endeavours to get myself ready to begin building my boat I decided recently that I should start looking at getting together some necessary templates for timber deck stuff... cleats saddles etc... so I contacted fellow forumite Mike Feild who also is proprietor of Wooden Boat Fittings (http://www.woodenboatfittings.com.au) in Victoria Australia and had a yarn about what I wanted to find and if he knew of where I could get the templates I needed.
Reason for asking Mike is that since he actually makes them he may well not sell me the templates since hes actually in the business of selling the finished fittings but rather that he may know of somewhere I could get them... and bein the all round nice guy he is he told me... and after some time yarning and such finally I recieved the following templates...

As you can see the detail is superb and he has even included helpful hints for mounting and how to cut the timber to get the best result... he gives various sizings and has a great clear template!
Best resource for Cleat Templates? Wooden Boat Fittings!!! ;) and at a great price too!! email Mike at... mail@woodenboatfittings.com.au ...and ask! tongue.gif and given the differences in our $$ to yours anywhere else {cept you Kiwis of course! :rolleyes: } its a bargain no matter how you look at it!
Now if I can just get him to send me some templates for belaying pins hoops deadeyes blocks and anything else he has!!! :D

Note... Mike knows I was intending on doing this and although a bit hessitant thinking maybe that someone may get some sorta bee in their bum about it somehow :rolleyes: ... he eventually agreed when I said Id do it anyway!! :D
