I just received a response from an email I sent to

regarding availability of their products in the USofA. It appears that American Rope and Tar (http://www.tarsmell.com) of Fair Oaks, California (greater San Francisco) is now stocking their products.

It's French,,,,,,,, but good stuff in spite of that, no need to thin for the first coats and requires only five total, so the job goes that much quicker. Cabin sides and cockpit on Patience have been treated with it this year,,,,,,,,, I'll let you know,,,,,,,,

Hello Ian, have you seen the varnish test in the Practical Boat Owner magazine? The Le Tonkinois stuff did not look any better than the others in the "Mediteranian" exposure test, but looked good in the UK exposure test. I hope I get to see your new varnish at the East Coast Classics event on June 25.
