The surveyor that just surveyed my dad's boat recommended terminal covers on the batteries in case of accidental shorts or whatever. (This in an engineers engine room... you could serve dinner down there for chrissake) Anyway, most of the terminals have more than one wire coming off them (parallel or instrument wires) so the usuall ones won't work. Any suggestions? I thought of a plastic cover that had a screw that went down into the lead terminal or.....These covers would be about 2 inches square with two 1 guage wires coming out from under. There are two 300 amp hour surrettes and two 100 amp surrettes for the engine.

The terminal covers I am familiar with have a large enough hole going into them to allow you to feed multiple wires throught the same hole.

Another option might be simply battery covers that cover the whole top of each battery.

I suggest looking at a Blue Seas catalog. There should be only one cable clamped to the terminal and the other end terminates with a 'buss bar', and both off these should/must be covered to prevent accidental sparking.

Check with McMaster-Carr...they gots lotsa terminal covers...including some that have multiple wire entry/exits and can be heat shrinked/shrunk? in place...I use them on some of my more interesting work......
