I just removed the tarps covering the boat, got to thinking. So I marked ALL 4 corners with the length and width, the respective dimensions on the edge to indicate the length of what edge. Now when I need them again I will know the size and the orientation merely by looking at any corner. ;)

Not only should you follow Ken's advice, you should have a rule "Tarp comes out of plastic; size noted on each corner."
It's easy because you always have that Sharpie marker in your pocket RIGHT??? If not, that should be Rule 1
