I have taken the step of ordering plans for Redmond's Whisp and T.N.Simmons Sea Skiff, also after about 20 years I am dropping my subscription to Fine Woodworking in favor of WB. That said, can some of you tell me your favorite issues of WB and which back issues I might learn the most from?
Thanks
HF

Well, one of my favorites is number 66 but that's because I love the look of Chineses Junks and there's an article in that issue with some beautiful pictures of them sailing along the coast of China...

If you're looking at plans for the Simmons, the October 1998 issue is a must.

I have copies of all the Whisp-related articles in WoodenBoat Magazine but found none of them too detailed about the boat. There was a how to build Whisp article in Small Boat Journal, #62, Aug/Sept 1988 that sure helped me as a first timer. I can send you a copy if you want. Check your e-mail for pictures I just sent you.
