I just got a free Modar Triton radio for my boat. Anyone know about this brand? If I use it, do I need a new registration number? I'm assuming that I can get the proper connectors for the power plug and the antenna at any marine supplier. Thanks in advance. Jim

Isn't this one of the older one crystal per channel units rather than synthesized? Likely has only a dozen channels, if that.

Which is fine. These units are bombproof and even if you get another set later, it's good to keep this on either 16 or maybe 22A. More and more parts of the US are going to 09 as the call-up channel - hope you have it.

Anyway, in the US, no license is required.

Thanks Ian. It seems to have all the necessary channels and is in good shape. It was used every summer through 2003 so hopefully I can get a couple of years out of it. Jim
