Any one familiar with “SEMITIX” from ARAN Wood Coatings?
It’s an “ Oleorethanic modified oil combined with a synthetic resin base and aliphatic solvents. Midthixotropic formulation”

I used it on my home built, somewhat protected south west facing VG fir front door and frame three years ago; they look like the day I put them in, not a finish crack or blemish any where. Now I am considering refinishing my mast with this product; I have just put a couple heavy coats on the picnic table and my question is;

“is it suitable for marine use? especialy a mast”

Gert, you perked my interest, I can't find anything through Google though. Sounds like good stuff.

I got it from our regular lacquer supplier; it's from Italy, they just stumbled upon and don't seem know a whole lot about it except everyone who buys it loves it, it's $60 CA gal (4 litrs). The msds sheets say it can be used for brite work, but my concern is it's abrasion resistence, and how many coats can you build up, not all finishes like mass. It's sweet stuff, recoat in 12 hrs, it can be thined with lacquer thinner or regular mineral spirits, go figure.
What ever became of our "Chemist" ?
