Anyone in the CT/RI area interested in taking a chance with some free, reclaimable(?)
douglas fir?

My uncle mentioned in casual conversation that he was re-doing his deck (the one on
his house, not the kind on a boat). The decking he was removing he said was douglas fir.
Some of it was rotted, thus the replacement, but most he said looked like real nice stuff
but for some surface weathering/checking. He says it cleans up to about 1.25" thickness.
He plans to dispose of it in the lumber pile at the local landfill.

Unfortunately, he already cut the 16' lengths down to 8' for ease of disposal.

I have not seen this stuff in person and make no claims as to its quality/condition. It is located
in Westerly, RI

Jeff,

I'm just a few miles from you in Hebron, CT and its not too much of a hike to Westerly.

Can you tell me approximately how much fir is available and whether or not it had been pressure treated?

I'm working on a launch and could definitely use it.

Please don't hesitate to give me a call at work (860-713-6819) OR EMAIL me at:

larryjacobson@mindspring.com

Thanks

Larry-
I'm not sure the quantity. I didn't think to ask at the time, but I will try to get hold of my uncle tonight and let you know.

It is not pressure treated.
