I am considering purchasing a woodie and was wondering if anyone had any information/opinion on the pros and cons of the two different types of construction (plywood/plank).

Do any of the two provide more longevity or reduced maintenance costs over time.

Flip a coin!

A question like that is going to start another fight. Or not. Maybe allthe fight is gone out of us. However, in anticipation of other answeres click on that little search thing in the upper right corner and invest a little time reading back posts. You'll find strong and valid opinions to support both. So....

Flip a coin.

Merry Christmas to ya.

Too many variables to give a sensible answer unless you are looking at two particular boats (one plywood/one planked). Then you'd have to assess the current condition and need for future maintenance between the two boats. The planked boat may need recaulking or refastening in the near future, for example.
