Yes, I've seen them at office supply places.
Of course, working with 1cm = 1m is a lot easier than working with 1/2" = 10' ;)

Good luck. It's easier to find drafting supplies on the 'net these days than in a store.

Apart from pure metric, keep an eye out for conversion scales too, Dennis. There are two sorts, one on which each scale has both metric and the equivalent imperial measurements alongside it, and another that is really metric but graduated in imperial, or vice versa.

I have one in my pencil drafting kit.
A week ago I might have given it to you, since pencil drafting is very passe. Now I just may kepp it for awhile, since they seem to be getting rare.
I made the transition to various CAD systems years ago, but nevcer enjoyed it as much as pencil drafting.

As a Kitchen and Bath Designer, I had to deal with this all the time, go to a true European Cabinet Manufacturers showroom, they ususlly have them as give aways. (Poggenpohl is the one that comes to mind.) Ikea showrooms give away a plastic tape measure, which is metric on one side and feet and inches on the other, really comes in handy, when trying to convert, while trying to purchase items, manufactured elsewhere!
