I inherited a planimeter from my late father-in-law who was a small boat designer. It is made by Stanley of Great Turnstile, Holborn, London. It is probably about 60 or 70 years old; there is no model number or serial number. Does anyone know a source of information on such instruments. I have tried a general search on the Internet, but that just produces auctioneers catalogues. Any clues would be appreciated.

The old vernier planimeters are neat. My Dad's got one also. We've got one of the digital ones, but it's not the same. If you find no use for it, my address is closer than Bob's, so feel free to mail it, and I'll pay shipment. I'll even put it to use in engineering and surveying occasionally, since that's its bread and butter.
