I am cutting down a few 100 year old trees this winter, straight for over 80 feet and 100 ft. tall. I figured some other boat builders might like to have some of this, as some center boards could be 30 in. wide by 24 ft. long if need be. I have cut some before, and thought it was way too good for posts, mostly #1 and clear stock.

These have good tight growth rings, like old growth, and we will be grading and cruising them this coming week. If you need some custom sizes we may be able to do that, give me a direct e-mail.

Thanks, Cal

OOPS! Sorry, yes the trees are douglas fir. I have put several into my fire place over the years and finally decided that is not such a good thing to do to boat timber stock.

I am pricing it on the basis of what Edensaw and others will pay me for it, as a good wholesale deal to other boat builders. Maybe get a builders group going down this way.

In reality, boat lumber is a mix of both QS and FS. Each plank should be chosen for its particular use.

Leaving the boards/planks in flitch sawn state is IMOOP best.
