I recently purchased a wooden boat manufactured by HIGGINS out of N. Orleans USA. The model no is B12A And the serial no is 6456. I would like to find out approx year or any other info about the boat.

That would be Higgins Industries. They built 85% of the vessels used in WWII. Primarily the LCVP "Higgins boat"
Higgins made a number of recreational boats after WWII. You might contact the folks at The Higgins Classic Boat Association: http://www.higginsclassicboats.com/
