After 10 years (effectively about 7 years of Saturdays) building my Haven 12 1/2, I hung out the "Gone Sailing" sign. The whole saga is at home.swbell.net/dmcconnl (http://home.swbell.net/dmcconnl)

The picture above was taken last Saturday by the crew of a sailing yacht who saw my web site that morning and went sailing that afternoon and happened to see my boat. To my amazement, they came by and guessing it was me, called out my name! They took the picture and emailed it to me.

Don, we have been waiting for that picture for a long time! She is beautiful. I might suspect you have the record for the longest build time for a Haven. Not only does Don have a great website, he has given me and several other Haven builders, advise, encouragement, and suggestions based on his experience without hesitation. I have certainly benefited from knowing Don. Thanks!

I'll second Paul's comments about Don's helpfullness. His advise got me through steam bending without pulling ALL of my hair out! Don, I've been visiting your site for a couple of years now, getting inspiration and watching for the big day... Must feel great to actually shape a course after all those hours sitting in her cockpit in the garage, eh? Congratulations! One hell of a job!

Absolutely beautiful! I have bookmarked your web page to take it all in, looks to be a great photo-history.
